Is Trackman Coaching Efficient For Amateur Golfers?

Is Trackman a useful tool to improve the game of amateur golfers?
Trackman has revolutionised the way professional golf coaches analyse ball flights and impact factors. Knowledge of the past made us believe the swing path was responsible for the initial starting direction of the ball and clubface alignment was the reason for curvature, however, this has been scientifically proven wrong. Many players i discuss this with find it hard to believe that the clubface has to be open at the point of impact to hit a draw or closed to hit a fade.
In my personal opinion, Trackman provides us with several important pieces of data; swing path, face angle, launch direction and angle of approach. This data tells you a lot about what the golf ball is doing in the air without having to look at the flight. For me, this takes a lot of the skill out of coaching. It can be beneficial in the way it makes links to pre-swing principles and how basic changes can really alter the numbers. However, this tells me that a swing needs to be built first, then the pre-swing principles are manufactured around this to straighten out the balls flight. Surely building a solid foundation of basics to begin with, is going to build a stronger more consistent golf swing?
Have the days of studying and admiring the way the ball flies to the eye gone? Being an up and coming golf coach, i sincerely hope not. I have always been taught to analyse what the ball is doing in the air and for me, it is one of the reasons i love coaching golf. It is an art to truly understand what the golf ball is doing during its flight and how it can vary from player to player.
To answer my question, i have to say no. The video attached is a prime example of how technical lingo can truly confuse and lose the concentration of your pupils. Keeping information simple, effective and straight to the point will benefit the way our students digest what you're telling them and truly make a difference to their game.
